Heavy-lift horror stories
|
29 July 2010 from 8pm to 9:30pm - at ISU, Illkirch, France The future of manned space flight is now in jeopardy, due to the recent U.S. Government decision to kill Project Constellation and its ARES heavy-lift vehicle systems which were to have succeeded the Space Shuttle program. The opportunity to return to the Moon, and someday to explore Mars, is thereby eliminated for the foreseeable future. The domino effect that this decision may have on long-range critical technologies and on the world economy is explored. Can private industry pick up the pieces? Speaker: Dr Gary A. Flandro, Professor of Aerospace Engineering, University of Tennesee Space Institute, Tullahoma, Tennesee, U.S.A. |
